The sound is the song itself. It amazes me how you could do things like this.

Cheers to good talent!

But where's the SONG? Personally, I don't care if it's played on emplty beer bottles, it's got to be a good tune, man. I ditched my hardwre for that reason, it was harder to stay in touch with the music and the audience until computers came along!

I don't know why he doesn't tour the US... He was at MUTEK last year with Alva Noto, and was in our backyard here at Harvard last fall, but nothing I can see that's coming up.

"The value of this collaboration to most users will really be the open architecture"

If you want open architecture, check out Pure Data, often called PD which was written by Miller Puckette after he wrote Max. It's open source so not only is it free to download and use, it's limitlessly extensible and openly auditable so you know what you're actually running on your machine.

Michael, thanks for the info, I just picked up Alchemy for half price, amazing synth/sampler. Just finished reading the manual and I am amazed by its flexibility and the price is amazing.

Don't get too excited and start buy everything, Alchemy can do everything that Cameleon 5000 can and much more, so instead of getting Cameleon, grab some of those cool effects.

I am a former member of AES, many yrs ago. I am now a touring engineer, with many gigs around the country. I toured for two years for a sound company that had contracts with Warner Bros, and A&M. I toured the country working gigs at most every concert venue, college theater, and clubs across the country, Started at Avery Fisher, and included The Great American Music Hall in San Fransico. This past summer I worked sound at all the street fairs in NYC. I've mixed house and monitors for four different sound companies.

I now wish to rejoin the AES, and go on tour again. If you can make this happen, I will be forever gratefull. You can, and I hope you do, E-Mail me at kenmccord@yahoo.com or you may call me @ 908-458-5932.

Thank you,
Ken McCord
